Fizz decided she wanted to be a Cowgirl today, so a Cowgirl she is. She loved her new boots . . . didn’t want to take them off. But after trying to walk in them she changed her mind. She did look rather silly in them, but I’d never tell her so. She might not want to come back!
I love detail. Lots and lots of detail. Sometimes I get lost in detail. So it was difficult for me to showcase these beauties without adding my usual dose. This little guy doesn’t need any. But I did give him a wee little bit, just for my satisfaction. Colin, atrampinthewoods.wordpress.com, is the photographer of these Red Admirals and has so kindly shared them for anyone to use. I hope I did them justice!
Fizz may get a little jealous if she finds out that I like butterflies too. Colin posted these photos on his blog yesterday and I couldn’t resist downloading them. He got several great shots of this beautiful Red Admiral, but these two are my favorites. I decide to place them together in this design. Thanks Colin, for sharing your interesting world with us!
For two days Fizz waited patiently as I worked on this layout. Finally I’m finished and Fizz hurried back to the UK. I’m sure Colin missed her!
Big things come in small packages, and Fizz is one of them. Although I’ve never seen her, or petted her, or played with her, she’s in my heart and I enjoy using her in my designs. Hope you enjoy her too!
Fizz came to visit me again today . . . all the way from the UK. She truly is a Wonder Dog!
About my Digital Designs
Years ago I took up Tole Painting. My husband had a workshop and we decided to make extra cash selling handmade country crafts. We spent more than we made. Ten years later, after discovering a brand new world of digital designs, I donated all my paints and brushes. I’m hooked! No more stuff to buy. No more messes to clean up. No more setting up booths in unpredictable weather. Like painting, digital design is an outlet. A challenge. A blessing. So what if my housework gets behind and my husband runs out of clean underwear. I’ll get to it eventually. For now I’m busy having fun!
PaintShop Pro X6 is an amazing, user-friendly program. It features many effect tools, plus extra plug-ins for even more special effects. I am self-taught. Every piece is another learning experience, an adventure into the amazing world of digital art. I love creating and I love seeing other people’s creations. I draw strength from the beauty around me and enjoy sharing it with you.
Fizz just keeps jumping into my designs. I’m not complaining; she’s fun and a joy to work with.
Why do people shudder
When you enter the door?
Can it be they can’t let go of Summer’s hand,
Her beauty and charm?
Do her warm sunny beaches
Have them under her spell?
Or maybe it’s her breezy whispers
On a sultry starlit night.
Her lovely serenades.
Her enticing scents.
Yet, Summer, in all her shimmering glory,
Pales in comparison to you.
As a kindly grandfather
You enter my door,
Your long white beard flowing.
You grasp my hand,
It’s surprisingly warm,
Just like the smile on your face.
The jewels you bring are magnificent,
A panorama of reds and golds
Glistening from the trees.
The air is crisp and clean,
Invigorating after a long,
Lazy hot summer.
Even the sun is friendlier.
As if relieved that you are here.
Though summer beckons me still,
I’m content to be with you.
I think of you often
Throughout the year.
The joy you bring,
Especially when I was a child.
Summer wasn’t into carving pumpkins,
Or dressing up for Halloween.
And she never dreamed of putting on a coat
And playing in the leaves.
I could hardly wait for your arrival.
Like a child she clings,
Knowing that her charms
Are slowly fading away.
Your days are shorter and cooler.
Your nights are long and cold.
You scatter leaves everywhere,
And raking seems an endless task.
But I love you old friend.
And I’m ever grateful for the privilege
Of meeting you again.
For those of you who don’t know, Fizz is a sweet, charming little Shih Tzu from the UK. She is Colin’s, atrampinthewoods.wordpress.com, little side kick that he takes with him on his adventures through the woods photographing flowers and bees and anything else that strikes his interest. He is kind enough to allow me to use Fizz in my digital designs. I just love her. She almost feels that she belongs to me. I think my next dog will be a Shih Tzu and I’m gonna name her Fizz!
