Silly Caricatures

Since I don’t have to ask permission from myself, and my husband agreed to going along with me for the ride, I created a few silly caricatures of us old people. We’ve been married forty-three years. Not always bump-free. Not always fun and laughs. Not always hugs and kisses. But always loving and forgiving one another. We’ve been through richer and poorer, through sickness and health, and pray it’s a long, long time till death do us part. We’re best friends. We can tell each other anything cause there’s nothing to hide. We trust. We love. We laugh. We cry. What more could a couple ask for?

Since each of us have been married before, we decide to get married by the Justice of the Peace. Where you get married isn’t what keeps you married. Love and commitment is the super glue that makes it stick.

After thirty-five years of faithful service at Drexel Heritage Furniture in High Point, North Carolina, hubby finally retired, and just in the nick of time. The company folded, putting hundreds of people out of work.

See how fun caricatures are? As a digital artist, I will never run out of ideas or subjects for cards and bookmarks. Life is too short to take too seriously all the time. I have to laugh more than I cry or I’ll slide into the slimy pit of depression. It stinks down there. And I don’t like stink.

So there you have it. A pair of senior citizens hardly ready for a wheelchair. I’ve threatened to put him in one, but I haven’t done it yet. I doubt I ever will. He’ll always be bigger than me!

Well, I hope you enjoyed playing with us. Remember to smile, laugh, and make someone happy today. You may not have the chance tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you for looking, and liking my stuff!
